PITTSBURGH, PA - An eastern Pennsylvania craft brewery is expanding into Pittsburgh and will open two locations in the city.
Pottstown-based Sly Fox Brewery plans a 6,000 square-foot full brewing facility in the old Terminal Building off Carson Street in the South Side and a 1,700 square-foot taproom in the River Vue apartment complex on Liberty Avenue, Downtown.
Sly Fox director of sales Pete Giannopoulos told Breweries in Pennsylvania that the Sly Fox beer brewed in Pittsburgh will be unique to the two city locations.
"We will use this location to help make pilot brews. If they are well received, you may see those brews renamed and also produced out of Pottstown on a larger scale," he said. "We will have food at each location as well, similar to the menu you see at our Pottstown location currently."
The Sly Fox Terminal Building location will seat around 200 people, expanding to about 300 with outdoor seating in the warmer months. The River Vue location will seat around 60 people, with that number increasing slightly with planned exterior seating.
